CHANGE - From the book "Get Your Life Together" Takiyah Diamond"

There’s nothing like the challenges of releasing the familiar. You say to yourself, “I know there’s a better life for me, but I accept the life I live.” It’s normal not being able to pay my bills; not asking for a raise even though I’ve been making the same salary, yet doing more work the past five years. Do you hear how you sound so far? I refuse to accept the person I fell in love with isn’t who I thought they were and honestly it’s pretty much over. I don’t want to risk what I have for something I don’t know, which really isn’t much of but I’ll just keep that rather than allowing something better to come into my life. “I’ll go on day to day accepting the same unhappy life I have.” Why would I do that to myself? Know why? It’s because it’s familiar and people hate change even if it’s for the better.

This marinates in your mind and guess what you’re doing? You already know. Sabotaging your future before it’s even here! I promise. You will get to a breaking point and realize something has to change in order for things to be different. So you ask, but what is it that I need to do? I can answer that. Change your mind change your life. Things come in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. All you have to do is plant new seeds but you rather keep feeding old weeds.

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind. - Viktor E. Frankl. What’s inside of you is what comes out of you. It is wiser to find out than to assume. If you don’t ask, how will you know? You may not get the answer you are seeking all the time but always know in every myth, the truth will reveal itself! The bible says, “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” Romans 12:2. Ask, and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the doors shall be opened. Matthew 7:7. Some things in life you just simply have to accept. No matter what you do how you go about it or where you did it at there will be a time you have to look inside yourself and realize you are creating these situation with the thoughts you choose. For example, your boss pisses you off every day you go to work. There is always something he she or even a co-worker does that rubs you the wrong way. At the days end, you need your job you need to make money and that should be your focus. Not worrying about my boss don’t like me, I hate my co-workers etc. What these words, phrases and things do to you is shape your reality going forward. Your boss ends up giving you more problems. The gossip about you around the job increases and now you’re either forced to quit or you get fired because you’re sick of the madness. But you must understand what you dish out you get back. So if they’re talking about you, so what! That’s their problem not yours. It’s how you portray yourself and what you think of yourself that truly speaks as to who you are. So don’t be a reflection of someone else. Always be the bigger person and allow others to be a reflection of you. Not you a reflection of them. Once you fully acknowledge and appreciate where you are, you've taken an important step in getting where you want to be. Don't let anyone hold you back from your truth. Don't expect anyone to do it for you. Step up to the challenge, believe in yourself, and do what it takes. Nothing is more insincere than phony enthusiasm. Don't fake it. Be truly enthusiastic. Get excited, and let it show. Sometimes we don’t understand why we are so attached to people who no longer serve us. Many times when our heart says yes we say no and when our heart says no we try to convince ourselves yes. There comes a point when it’s beyond just trying to keep the peace between you and others. How can you be at peace with others if you don’t have complete peace of self within you? Always remember you can’t please everybody. But you can please yourself. No matter what heights you get to in life whether you’re doing well or bad some people just will not like you; and guess what? So what! They don’t have to. How people treat you is their karma, how you react to the way they treat you is yours. Just keep in mind you are the prize and they will be privileged to be in your company should they deserve to be in your presence and mean you well. Don’t cut off your blessings because someone else is lacking on being a blessing to someone else. It’s not your problem. Change is the greatest choice God could have ever created. Don't be afraid to make the change. It will serve you.
